For the last 4 decades, he has been working AI. It all started in high school when one of his friends convinced him that the brain worked like a hologram, and it grew from there. Without his work over the last 4 decades, AI research would not be anywhere near what it is today.

So who is the Godfather of Modern AI? Found out here: https://4king.com/godfather-of-modern-ai/

Hinton, along with Yoshua Bengio and Yann LeCun are responsible for engineering a new age of Artificial Intelligence. These distinguished scientists have managed to engineer AI for the modern age, from the ground up. Hinton, himself, started to engineer AI, as back as 1983. His work in Neural Networks is unparalleled. There is no doubt that he is one of the Godfathers of modern AI Engineering.

I recently saw a seminar that basically had this trifecta dispensing some sage advice. It was amazing to see them having the vision to engineer AI, so advanced, we're still using them on the daily. Really blew my mind.

Yes, it is quite interesting to listen to them.

Neural networks dates back to the 1960 and have been through ups and downs through the last decades in terms of popularity. But these three men have continued to work on this topic even when it was less popular and it has well paid.

As per a recent headline, there is a 80%+ shortage in professionals who engineer AI machines professionally. While the need for those who engineer AI, Ml, DL and Neural Networks is about 1.3 million, the industry only employs a fraction of that number in the workforce.
