Yes, and I think once AGI is achieved, the world is going to be different than we know it.

Here's a good website about this stuff and it offers hope.

Artificial intelligence (AI) is the simulation of human intelligence processes by machines, especially computer systems. These processes include learning (the
acquisition of information and rules for using the information), reasoning and self-correction.You can also create redirects, modify HTTP headers, manage crawling, and so much more! Advantages: AI would have a low error rate compared to humans, if coded properly. They would have incredible precision, accuracy, and speed. They won't be affected by hostile environments, thus able to complete dangerous tasks, explore in space, and endure problems that would injure or kill us.

Artificial Intelligence, also called machine intelligence, is a branch of computer science that entails machines mimicking cognitive functions of the human brain.

AI is already easing us in many ways like:

1) Enhanced Automation
2) Eliminates the Necessity for Humans to Perform Tedious and Time taking Tasks
3) Smart Weather Forecasting
4) Next Generation Disaster Response
5) Zero Scope for Errors

Facts you should know about Artificial Intelligence

1.In the year 2018, the AI market reached $24 Billion, with the anticipated CAGR to reach 37.3 percent for 2017-2022
2. The global spending on AI systems is predicted to arrive at $77.6 Billion in 2022, as per the IDC Spending Guide
3. Artificial Intelligence will give rise to 58 million jobs by the year 2022, as per a Forbes article.

In general term, Artificial Intelligence refers to a machine which mimics human cognition. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a transformation in itself, and it is crippling fast into all facets of our lives and across industries. The fact remains that every company needs an AI-based application that will help them sustain their business model for the future generation.

In recent times, B2B and B2C businesses have recorded great return-on-investment through AI and automation of business processes. Gradually, organizations are becoming more smarter; decision-makers now have deep business insights and employees empowered through the adoption of AI and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) at the workplace.

However, Artificial Intelligence is not a substitute for the workforce, but rather, an enabler to make employees smarter and allow time for other productive tasks.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is intelligence demonstrated by machine, in contrast to the natural intelligence displayed by humans and animals. It encompasses everything from Robotic Process Automation (RPA) to actual robotics.

IoT In factories and industries, connected systems and objects provide the potential for a fourth industrial revolution and research shows that come 2020, more than half of new businesses will leverage on IoT.

What Can We Engineer AI For?
Posted by: Engineer.AI

As of now, we have been only able to engineer AI machines, rooted in ultra-specific requirements. There is yet to be a revolution in AI the way that science fiction has talked about all these years - the reason I say that, is because we haven't been able to engineer AI that is anything more than a news soundbyte. The true genesis (as one would say), is still beyond the horizon.
